Words, whimsy and humor inspire my art, because that is how i approach my life. I am drawn to collage and painterly surfaces, so to me it is a natural progression that my art has evolved into a combination of both. I work with images that are true to me, the house form, childhood toys and vintage dresses, because as an artist and a mother it is what i hold near and dear to me, my kids and the day to day journey of life .My work has been published numerous times in Cloth Paper Scissors and Somerset Studio. I have two painting dvd’s out with Interweave Press on on Texture Build up and one on Preparing to Paint, both are full of techniques in creating mixed media paintings. I have an MFA from Pratt Institute and I teach elementary school art, which I love. I am most happy walking around in paint splattered clothes, drinking an iced coffee. I have two teenagers Harly and Connor who make me laugh each day. I live in an antique farmhouse in New England with purple shutters.

Mandy Gees
mandy bio 300x225 Instructor BiosLoving the local arts scene and loving to laugh as well as being a long time Natick resident living around the corner from Palettes made this job a perfect fit after a number of years of teaching middle school English. Life is all about balance and being able to spend time as well with family and a household of 6 animals makes for a pretty fun time. I’m learning Spanish and mosaics while the garden, walking in the woods, eating amazing food, and traveling are my favorite things of all.

Meaghan Brady
Meaghan Bio 225x300 Instructor Bios
Hello Everyone! My name is Meaghan Brady and I am so happy to be a part of Palettes. I am currently a student at UMass Lowell, a mother to a beautiful four year old girl named Melody, and a lover, seeker and creator of art. Throughout my explorations as a developing artist I have felt the true meaning of patience, dedication, passion, fearlessness and beauty. I believe that art is much larger than what we think we can or want to create. Sometimes art can move beyond our intentions, and in turn surprises, excites and inspires us in ways otherwise not possible. I believe that anyone is capable of making these fascinating discoveries within themselves, and it is truly a pleasure to show others what the incredible world of art has to offer.
I thoroughly enjoy working with all kinds of mediums from paint, to charcoal, to photography, to the computer and back. I do not believe in limitations! You can see some of my work at mbrady.carbonmade.com and I look forward to seeing you soon!
